Key Points From This Episode:
- Plurality of leadership (teams) are strongly encouraged.
- Though there are often apostolically gifted leaders who start the movement, as they grow they can not continue to be a one man or one woman show.
- Leadership and eldership are on the town, city or regional level, not church by church or group by group.
- Everyone is a leader; to lead themselves, to start new groups, to share the gospel. Be careful not to set up a hierarchy where some are leaders and others are not.
- Primary accountability is to the generation above. In serious cases or problem solving you may need to go up two generations or down two generations to resolve it.
- On the outer edge of the growing movement, new apostolic teams are sent out. New streams and new leaders develop.
- Movements, due to the highly relational nature, tend to have better accountability in place than many more traditional structures.
