Key Points From This Episode:

  • An encounter with God doesn’t always lead to a life of moving in His power if you are not discipled into it.
  • Sometimes there is a period of preparation before God sends us, a time of learning and growing in Him.
  • Hebrews 3:1 “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.”  Jesus is our model
  • Jesus made disciples in the power of the Holy Spirit.  So did Paul.  So should we!
  • 4 primary dimensions of the Spirit’s power: healing, deliverance, raising the dead, prophetic gifts and words of knowledge
  • God doesn’t only use the mature or spiritually strong, he often uses the weak and newer believers to manifest His power.
  • 85 to 90% of the people who have come to Christ have done so through some demonstration of God’s power.
  • With the power of the Holy Spirit upon us, there is not a single place we can not go, no closed countries.
  • If people are bound theologically, in a certain camp, its helpful to explain things in a fresh way and help them see there is a middle ground.
  • Find someone who is moving in these signs and wonders and learn from them, get alongside them, and experience it with them.
  • The Holy Spirit’s power is an accelerator of disciplemaking work.
  • The gospel and power need to go together.  Proclamation and demonstration.  There is no formula as to which comes first.
  • Model, don’t only teach these things.  Show them how to do it.
